Lets first understand what is Grading before going with CGPA?
Grading in education is that the method of applying standardized measurements of varying levels of accomplishment during a course. Grades are assigned as letters, as a number and as a percentage from number of possible correct answers.
Understanding the GPA?
All grades from all current classes are averaged to create a grade point average (GPA) for the marking period. It is a standard technique of scheming a student’s average grade over a stipulated period, like one term/semester. GPA is calculated by dividing the average grade points a student achieved.
GPAs are calculated for undergraduate and graduate students in most universities. The GPA can be used by potential employers or academic institutions to assess and compare applicants.
What is CGPA & How to Calculate?
A cumulative grade point average (CGPA) could be a calculation of the average of all of a student's total earned points divided by the possible number of points. This grading system calculates for all of his or her complete education careers.
What is the Difference Between CGPA & SGPA?
Basically, SGPA stands for Semester Grade Point Average. It is a grading scheme used by many universities just to calculate Semester wise pointers. CGPA, grade points obtained by a student in all semesters are added and divided by the total of his total credit hours. If there are two semesters during a year, a student gets CGPA for a year, and therefore the grades within the semester get him SGPA.
